# Settings Overview

> Configure your Squad's name, threshold, addresses, and security options

The Settings page displays your Squad's core information and lets you configure security and operational parameters. Onchain changes (threshold, time lock, spending limits, rent reclaim, and Fee Relayer setup) require approval based on your threshold. The Squad name, logo, privacy, public memos, auto rent reclaim, and coin list filter apply immediately.

Settings are organized into four tabs: **General** (Squad name, logo, threshold, interface theme), **Spending limits**, **Security** (privacy, public memos, time lock), and **Other** (rent reclaim, fee relayer, coin list filter).

## Squad details

The top section shows your Squad's name, logo, creation date, threshold, and addresses. To update the name or logo, open the **General** tab, select the edit icon on the **Squad name** or **Squad Logo** row, make your change, and confirm with the check icon. Logos must be PNG, JPEG, or GIF files of 1 MB or less.

## Squad addresses

Your Squad has two addresses displayed in Settings:

| Address | What it's for |
| - | - |
| **Squads Vault** | Your default sub-account address. Use this to receive deposits, set as program authority, and interact with external protocols |
| **Multisig account** | The onchain account that stores your Squad's configuration (members, threshold, etc.). Hidden by default: select the eye icon and confirm the security warning to reveal it. Used for settings operations and CLI commands |

<Warning>
  Never send assets to the Multisig account address. Only the Squads Vault address should hold assets or be set as an authority. Sending assets to the Multisig account will result in permanent loss of funds.
</Warning>

## Threshold

The threshold is the number of member approvals required to execute a proposal.

1. Navigate to **Settings** and open the **General** tab
2. Select the edit icon on the **Threshold** row
3. Set the new threshold and select **Initiate**
4. The threshold updates once the proposal is approved and executed

A 2-of-3 or 3-of-5 threshold is recommended. Avoid setting it to 1 (single point of failure) or equal to total members (one lost key locks the Squad). Only members with the Voter permission count towards the threshold.

<Info>
  Changing the threshold invalidates all Active proposals. They show as Cancelled and can no longer be approved. Ready proposals in the **Vault** tab can still be executed. Ready proposals in the **Config** tab cannot. Complete pending proposals before making this change.
</Info>

## Spending limits

This feature is configured under the **Spending limits** tab in Settings:

* **[Spending Limits](/app-guide/settings/spending-limits)** — Allow specific members to send assets without full approval, within configured caps

## Security settings

These features are configured under the **Security** tab in Settings:

* **[Privacy](/app-guide/settings/privacy)** — Restrict your Squad's visibility to members only
* **Public Memos** — Allow public read access to the offchain memos attached to your transactions. Off by default, and can only be turned on when Privacy is off
* **[Time Lock](/app-guide/settings/time-locks)** — Add a delay before approved proposals can be executed

## Other settings

These features are configured under the **Other** tab in Settings:

* **[Fee Relayer](/app-guide/members/fee-relayer)** — Let the Squad cover transaction fees so members don't need SOL in their wallets
* **[Rent reclaim](/app-guide/settings/rent-reclaim)** — Recover the SOL rent held by the accounts of finalized transactions
* **[Coin list filter](/app-guide/treasury/token-filter)** — Set whether new incoming tokens are shown or hidden by default
