# Priority fees

> Adjust transaction priority and advanced execution settings

  Most users do not need to change these settings. Priority fees and advanced execution options are for troubleshooting failed transactions or optimizing for network congestion.

## Priority fees

Priority fees incentivize Solana validators to process your transactions faster during high network activity.

Priority fees are set per transaction:

1. Navigate to **Transactions** in the sidebar
2. Select the transaction to open **Transaction details**
3. Select **Advanced** at the bottom of the panel
4. Under **Priority Fee**, choose a setting:

| Setting | Behavior |
| - | - |
| Auto | Adjusts automatically based on network conditions |
| Ultra | Higher fees for faster processing during congestion |
| Custom | Enter a value manually, up to 0.1. It sets a price per compute unit, so the fee paid depends on the transaction's size and can be higher than the value entered. Values above 0.01 show a warning |

## Heap memory

Some complex transactions require additional memory to execute. Only enable this if a transaction fails with a heap or memory error.

1. Navigate to **Transactions** in the sidebar
2. Select the failed transaction
3. Select **Advanced**
4. Check **Heap** (Execute with requestHeapFrame instruction)
5. Re-execute the transaction

This is typically needed for complex external actions involving multiple accounts and operations. It uses slightly more compute and costs more in fees.

## Disable fee relayer for a single transaction

If your Squad has [Fee Relayer](/app-guide/members/fee-relayer) enabled but you want to pay for a specific transaction from your personal wallet:

1. Navigate to **Transactions** in the sidebar
2. Select the transaction
3. Select **Advanced**
4. Check **Fee Relayer** (Disable Fee Relayer for execution)

  | Transaction fails with heap/memory error | Check **Heap** under **Advanced** and execute again |
  | Want to pay from personal wallet instead of treasury | Check **Fee Relayer** under **Advanced** for that transaction |
