# Create a Squad

> Set up your first multisig account on Squads

Create a multisig account on Squads in a few minutes. You need a Solana wallet and a small amount of SOL for deployment fees.

## Prerequisites

* A Solana wallet (Phantom, Backpack, Solflare, or similar)
* 0.1 SOL for the deployment fee, plus a small amount of SOL for the initial deposit, network rent, and transaction fees
* Wallet addresses of your team members (optional; members can be added after creation)

## Steps

<Steps>
  <Step title="Connect your wallet">
    Go to [app.squads.so](https://app.squads.so/) and select **Connect wallet**. Choose your wallet from the available options.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Select Create a Squad">
    Select **Create a Squad** from the home screen.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Enter Squad details">
    Add a name (required, up to 32 characters), a logo (PNG, JPEG, or GIF, up to 1 MB), and a description (optional, up to 64 characters). Uploading a logo requires signing in with your wallet. The name and logo can be changed later in **Settings**. Select **Next**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Add members and set threshold">
    Your connected wallet is the first member and has all permissions. Select **Add member** for each additional member and enter their **Public key**. You can also add a **Nickname**, which is saved only in your browser, and choose the member's **Permissions** (Proposer, Voter, Executor).

    Set the **Threshold** (the number of approvals required to execute a proposal). The threshold cannot be higher than the number of members with the Voter permission. Then select **Next**.

    A **2-of-3** or **3-of-5** threshold is recommended. Avoid a threshold of 1 (single point of failure) or equal to total members (one lost key locks the Squad). A Squad can be created with up to 10 members, including you. More can be added later by proposal.

    Only add wallets that you fully control. Do not add exchange addresses, as they cannot sign transactions.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Review and create">
    Review the members, threshold, and deploy fee. Select **Create** and approve the transaction in your wallet. Once the transaction confirms, your new Squad's dashboard opens.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Share with your team">
    Send the Squad URL to your team. Members connect the wallet that was added to the Squad to access it.
  </Step>
</Steps>
