What Range does
When you open a proposal that has not yet been executed, Range automatically simulates the proposed action and displays the results. This gives members a clear picture of what will happen before they approve. Range checks for:- Unauthorized access patterns such as custom instructions that grant access to funds
- Authority changes including modifications to program authority or account ownership
- Unusual token movements such as unexpected transfers, delegations, or approvals
- Known malicious patterns flagged across Range’s threat database
How to use Range warnings
Range warnings appear in the Risk Scanner card when you open a proposal that has not yet been executed in the Transactions page. Before approving:- Review the simulation results to understand what the proposal will do
- Check for any warnings or flags Range has identified
- If a proposal is flagged, investigate before approving — confirm the intended action with the member who created it through a separate channel
Who benefits most
Range is useful for all members, but especially valuable for non-technical members who may not be able to read raw transaction data. The simulation translates onchain actions into readable descriptions, making it easier to spot proposals that do not match expectations.FAQ
